About Us

Before we founded Randolph Wine Cellars, we operated a large wine emporium in a Chicago suburb for 15 years. Frustrated by having to sell mass-produced and marketed wine on such a large scale, we resolved to pursue our passion and open a smaller, neighborhood boutique in the city. Located at the western portal to what is now Randolph Street’s “Restaurant Row” in Chicago’s stylish West Loop district, Randolph Wine Cellars — and our adjacent bar, The Tasting Room — opened in 2000 to much acclaim. Since then, we have continued to pursue excellence through tastings, classes, and providing individually tailored service to those who share our love of the vine.
 
Randolph Wine Cellars is dedicated to the enjoyment of fine wine and spirits. We constructed our retail environment with special attention to storage; proper temperatures and delicate lighting ensure that our wines retain the promise with which they were bottled. Unlike most wine superstores, we do not attempt to stock a comprehensive selection of wines; instead, we focus on presenting a painstakingly curated and unique selection of handcrafted, limited-production wines for which the winemakers invested first in the contents of the bottle — not in the marketing. However, if that specific wine you are searching for isn’t on our shelves, do not despair: we will order it for you. We are the ideal resource to find anything from the $10 bottle for the BYOB that night, to the special-order case of that memorable wine you had on your trip to Oregon. With sommeliers and seasoned wine judges on staff, and over 30 years of retail experience, we are confident that we can find a wine that matches any taste or budget — on-line, or in person.
